  About the Board

The Idaho Department of Correction is a state government agency controlled by a three-member board appointed by the governor. Board of Correction members are appointed to six-year terms.

Chairmansandy

Robin Sandy is the chairman of the Idaho Board of Correction. Governor Jim Risch appointed her in July 2006.Robin comes to the Board of Correction after over eight years on the board of the Idaho Commision of Pardons and Parole where she has served three terms under three governors. Sandy's background includes consulting work for businesses in the U. S. and in England. She also owns her own company and has served as the government affairs director for The American Cancer Society. Sandy's term expires in 2011.

  Secretarynielsen

Jay L. Nielsen was appointed to the board in March 2005. Nielsen, a private financial consultant from Twin Falls, served on the Idaho Commission on Pardons and Parole between 1992 and 1998. Nielsen is the former President and CEO of D.L. Evans Bank in Burley and the Treasure Valley Bank in Fruitland. Nielsen's term expires in 2007.
