Out of State Prisons - Kit Carson Correctional Center
Kit Carson Correctional Center (KCCC) is a 1488-bed medium custody correctional facility located in Burlington, Colorado, approximately 165 miles east of Denver and a 12 hour drive from Boise, Idaho. Built in 1998 and expanded in 2008, the facility is owned and operated by Correction Corporation of America (CCA), and will house Idaho offenders separately from Colorado offenders currently at the facility. Offender Accounts, Commissary, and Phone:
Procedures for offender accounts, commissary and phones differ from those at Idaho facilities. *Note: Money orders WILL NOT be processed by IDOC; they must be sent to KCCC at the address listed below. Visiting Hours: Every Thursday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Note: Special visits may be granted for other days/times on a case-by-case basis through the facility head. No visits will be allowed on Saturday or Sunday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Application Process for KCCC: Please read and be familiar with KCCC's Visiting Rules for Offenders and Visitors and complete and submit the following:
If the applicant is 18 or older, submit: Visiting Application - Adult.
If the applicant is 17 or younger, submit the following: Visiting Application - Adult (For parent or guardian to visit); a separate application, Visiting Application - Minors (for child to visit); a copy of the court order granting legal guardianship or a Power of Attorney Delegating Limited Powers for Visitation and a certified copy of the minor's birth certificate.
