Correctional officer accused of bringing contraband into prison
BOISE, October 2, 2012 — As the result of an investigation by the Idaho Department of Correction’s Office of Professional Standards and the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, an IDOC correctional officer has been arrested for allegedly bringing tobacco and other contraband into Idaho State Correctional Institution, a medium-security, men’s prison south of Boise.
Richard Perry Cable, Jr., was arrested late Friday and booked into the Ada County Jail. He was hired by IDOC on August 25, 2010. He has been placed on administrative leave without pay.
Because this is a personnel matter, IDOC will have no further comment on the case.
