IDOC's FY12 annual report

BOISE, December 28, 2012 – The Idaho Department of Correction has released its annual report for fiscal 2012. The report is a summary of IDOC’s operations in the period from July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012.

Among the highlights:

  •  Idaho’s inmate population grew by 519 inmates in FY12.
  •  The probation and parole population grew by just 19 offenders during FY 12
  •  Nearly 400 offenders earned GEDs in FY12.

The report includes a message from IDOC Director Brent Reinke in which he says the department is focusing on three key issues in 2013:  staff, population and settling the Balla case, a 31-year-old lawsuit over healthcare and population issues at Idaho State Correctional Institution.

In 2012, IDOC experience 18 percent turnover in the correctional officer ranks and 12 percent turnover in all other classifications.
