Investigators Probe Apparent Suicide
COUNCIL, April 21, 2012 - The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the apparent suicide of an Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) offender at the Adams County jail in Council.
Levi Leo Jones, IDOC #102007, (DOB: 6/12/91), was found hanging in his cell at about 12:15 a.m. on April 21, 2012. The county coroner pronounced Jones dead at approximately 1:00 a.m.
Since December, Jones had been sentenced in Washington, Boise and Canyon counties on seven charges of Burglary (2), Grand Theft by Possession (2), and Conspiracy to Commit Burglary (3). He would have been eligible for parole in 2013. He was taken to Adams County for a hearing on an outstanding arrest warrant prior to being sent to the main state prison.
Per standard protocol, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation and the Department of Correction will perform a serious incident review.
