An IDOC Employee's Hidden Paycheck

The State of Idaho contributes, on average, 40% of an employee's annual salary to their benefits package. We call this a "hidden paycheck" because this money isn't deposited into the employee's bank account and that can make it easy to miss. The employer contribution is an important aspect of an employee's total compensation package and makes a big difference!

All IDOC employees enjoy:

  • PERSI Retirement (one of the Nation's best retirement systems)
  • Low-Cost Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance (provided by Blue Cross of Idaho - low premiums and excellent coverage)
  • 10 Paid Holidays
  • Paid Sick and Vacation Leave (Accrual begins immediately! No waiting period!)
  • Workers Compensation
  • Social Security

Optional benefits can add even more value to your paycheck. They include 457 Deferred Compensation, 401K and supplemental term life insurance. Learn more about benefits available to state employees from the Office of Group Insurance and PERSI.
