Push Up Challenge at Beat the Heat Event

District 7 Probation and Parole as well as the IDOC Free2Succeed Mentor Program participated in an event with the Idaho Falls Police Department called Beat the Heat. This was a community event where local kids were invited to compete against police officers during "Beat the Heat" at Skyline High School Saturday, Aug. 17th. They were able to test their skills at the Idaho POST fitness standards. This was a fun, casual way for kids to interact with officers. Beat the Heat was a great way to build positive relationships so that in the event a family needs the assistance of law enforcement, it's not their first time interacting with someone wearing a badge. District 7 Probation and Parole hosted the push up POST event. The kids loved interacting with our officers!  Many parents and kids stopped by the IDOC Free2Succeed table to learn more about Free2Succeed and take home some candy and coloring books.
