Cooking up new skills and hope

Misty and Asea aren't your typical grocery store shoppers -- they're inmates at the Idaho Department of Correction.
But as they walk through the produce aisle, they are on an assignment to make a meal for four under $10.
"Our plan of attack was to look at everything individually and price check everything," Asea said.
After individually looking at produce, meat, and other ingredients, the pair was able to secure everything needed for chicken kabobs under their goal price.
It's all a part of a class called Cooking Matters, where inmates get the opportunity to cook, prepare and buy healthy meals on a budget.
