D2 Gives Thanks

parole officer with family
By Summer Overberg, Clinician, District 2

For the second year in a row, District 2 Probation and Parole staff have donated food items to provide a Thanksgiving dinner to three families on supervision.

This tradition is made possible through a partnership with the Community Action Food Bank who donates the turkeys and ChangePoint Behavioral Health who provides pumpkin pies.

Probation officers submit nominations and selections are made for one family from each office (Lewiston, Moscow and Orofino).

The Lewiston recipient this year was Sheri Chuitt along with her two sons Loyal Dickson and Anthoney Dickson who are all on Officer Brumbaugh’s caseload.

This family will be celebrating their first Thanksgiving together in the community in 14 years.

Officer Martinez from the Orofino office nominated Amber Sanderson and her family.

Officer Martinez reports Amber has made significant changes in her life since being on probation and uses her community-based supports.

Officer Banta from the Moscow office nominated Danny Balibrera and his family.

Danny was nominated for the effort he is making in his employment, family life and probation.

We wish all these families a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
