District 5 – Twin Falls: During our P & P Week festivities, the district had a short staff meeting and then a D5 Employee Morale Association BBQ. At this event we had two Senior Probation and Parole Officers to recognize for the dedication and commitment to Idaho Department of Correction, the community and the offenders they serve.

Alex McClain, 5 years of service

Rosy Garcia, 15 years of service

District 5 lost a brother suddenly in 2017, Ted Babbitt Sr. PPO. He was loved and admired by many throughout his career here at IDOC. In 2018, District 5 Leadership decided to create an award named after him. Thus the birth of the Ted Babbitt Award was created.

"In order to spotlight Ted Babbitt's exemplary work ethic, comradery with coworkers and offenders, and his cheerful attitude, District 5 has introduced the Ted Babbitt Award, which honors those in the district who regularly exhibit these qualities. The award is highly prestigious and only presented to those who routinely go above and beyond in all aspects of their work, regardless of their position. Ted has a special place in District 5 hearts, and we miss him and hope this award can show the respect and honor we have for our brother." Collin Widmier, District Manager

2019's Ted Babbitt Award recipient is: Marie Hoffmier, Administrative Assistant 2. Marie didn't blink when she was asked to take on two different roles here at District 5 Twin Falls Office for almost a year. She continues to show up to work with a cheerful attitude, willing to drop what she is doing to help those around her, and always has a "true" smile on her face. She is truly District 5's "jack of all trades" she has hooked many staff members with her mints, treats, sense of humor and most of all her positive attitude towards life and loving her job with IDOC. Please help in congratulating Marie Hoffmier.
