Efforts Continue to Beautify ICIO

ICIO Inmates Performing Concrete Work
Lt. Greg Heun, Idaho Correctional Institution - Orofino

For the last three years efforts have been continuing focused on giving ICIO a needed facelift. The three main ICIO buildings were built in 1938, 1950, and 1989. If you've been to ICIO in the past and visited recently, you would have seen lots of great positive changes and additions. Recently a very old and worn out sidewalk at Givens Hall, the oldest of the buildings, was replaced using the talents of expert inmate workers in the field of concrete flatwork. All 7 yards of concrete was hauled in from a Redi-mix truck at the Givens Hall rear sally port by wheelbarrows operated by invaluable inmate helpers.
