Correctional officer accused of having sexual contact with inmate

BOISE, June 14, 2012 — As the result of an investigation launched by the Idaho Department of Correction’s Office of Professional Standards and turned over to the Pocatello Police Department, an IDOC correctional officer has been arrested for allegedly having sexual contact with an inmate.

Kim Rogers worked at Pocatello Women’s Correctional Center in Pocatello. He was hired by IDOC as a correctional officer in May of 2002. He left the department in March 2003 and returned in May 2003.

Rogers has been placed on administrative leave without pay.

The charge of sexual contact with a prisoner is a felony. IDOC refers all felony criminal investigations to the local law enforcement agency which has jurisdiction over the area where the crime allegedly occurred.

Because this is a personnel matter, IDOC will have no further comment.
