Investigators Probe Apparent Suicide at Idaho State Correctional Institution
BOISE, January 3, 2011 – The Idaho Department of Correction is investigating the apparent suicide of an inmate at Idaho State Correctional Institution.
Luis Rodriguez-Jimenez, IDOC #92998 (DOB: 5/2/1991), was discovered unresponsive in his cell at 7:41 p.m. Monday, December 27th. He was transported to St. Alphonsus Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
On December 7, 2010 in Twin Falls County, a judge sentenced Rodriguez-Jimenez to two to eight years in prison for forgery. Rodriguez-Jimenez was eligible to be considered for parole on May 12, 2012.
ISCI is a medium security men’s prison south of Boise. The facility has capacity for 1,688 offenders.
