The Idaho Department of Correction’s Honor Guard performed at the 16th annual Idaho Peace Officers’ Memorial ceremony Thursday.

Pictured here, from left to right, are Cpl. Misty Spiers, Sr. PPO Matt Thomas, Cpl. Tyler Nicodemus, Officer Ryan Stephenson, and Sgt. Tia Borg.

The event, which is held annually in May, honors officers who have fallen in the line of duty and recognizes the sacrifice of those they left behind.

“It was great to see our honor guard at the center of this event,” said IDOC Deputy Director Kevin Kempf. “They did an outstanding job representing all of us.”

The memorial is located on the grounds of the Idaho State Police headquarters in Meridian. It gives families, friends and colleagues of fallen officers a place to gather and remember their loved ones.
