Last month ICIO Special Projects was approached by the non-profit organization, Second Chance Animal. Inc. (SCA), about building cat and dog houses for low-income families in the North-central Idaho/Washington area, with SCA providing all the materials.

ICIO has lots of projects going on at the facility so inmate carpenter, Chester Smith, was tasked with building the structures when he had the spare time.

Recently the first set of dog houses and a house for a cat were finished and picked up by the very grateful SCA founder & Executive Director, Georgia Stewart.

Ms. Stewart said that those in the public interested in learning more about their program, or who would meet the SCA’s requirements for a free animal shelter, can go to their Facebook site for further information.

All their operations are conducted through Facebook, @secondchanceanimal
