IDOC Honor Guard Member Completes US ARMY Course

Level 1 Honor Guard Training
Collin Young, Correctional Case Manager, Treasure Valley Community Re-Entry Center

Once a year, the US ARMY hosts a Level 1 Honor Guard Training Course. Participants are trained on Federal SOP guidelines and given a foundational knowledge of Honor Guard Practices. Each member logs nearly 90 hours during this 6-day training.

It is physically and mentally exhausting and requires a great deal of focus, determination, dedication, attention to detail, bearing, and self-discipline. It is a pass or fail course, with a 50% graduation rate. IMSI's own, Corporal Wayne Baerlocher, was one of four to graduate from a class of eight. The IDOC Southern Honor Guard Team is grateful for the opportunity to send our members to this challenging course. We are also grateful for the added training and expertise of another one of our members. Please join us in congratulating Corporal Baerlocher; completing this course is no easy task.
