BOISE, March 25, 2017 -- The Idaho Department of Correction is investigating the death of an inmate at Idaho Maximum Security Institution.

At 5:09 a.m., a correctional officer found Danny Cordova unresponsive in his cell. IMSI initiated CPR and called 911. Ada County paramedics pronounced Cordova dead at 5:52 a.m. Cordova was 59 years old.

As it does in the case of all unattended deaths in the South Boise Correctional Complex, IMSI contacted the Ada County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy processed Cordova’s cell as a crime scene.  The Ada County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause of death.
