IDOC Receives 2018 Laserfiche Run Smarter® Award

Boise, Idaho, Feb. 7, 2019 – The Idaho Department of Correction is pleased to announce that it has won a 2018 Laserfiche Run Smarter® Award. Laserfiche—a leading global provider of enterprise content management (ECM) software—launched the Run Smarter® Awards in 2005 to honor organizations that take an innovative approach to managing content and automating processes to drive business value.

Through Laserfiche, the Idaho Department of Correction has adopted an automated process to capture and directly input supervision contact notes increasing productivity for officers out in the field. This new process has saved each officer 4 to 8 hours a month of having to sit at their desks inputting information. It has also resulted in more timely and accurate entries. We have approximately 60 security staff using this process, which has saved us on the average of 480 hours per month.

"The Idaho Department of Correction's Mission is to protect the public, our staff and those within our custody and supervision through safety, accountability, partnerships and providing opportunities for offender change." said IDOC Director JoshTewalt. "Our goal is to modernize technology providing our staff the tools needed to be successful. Using Laserfiche, we have automated a lot of our processes making them more efficient and entirely paperless. Our priority is to increase staff efficiency, so they can focus on more important duties. The benefits have far exceeded our expectations and we will continue to improve processes throughout the agency."

"Through its vision and leadership, the Idaho Department of Correction is demonstrating the future of work, which supports collaboration, innovation and ingenuity," said Karl Chan, President at Laserfiche. "This forward-thinking approach to operations is positioning IDOC as a leader in the correctional industry. This recognition is well deserved—congratulations!"

The winners of the Laserfiche Run Smarter® Awards were announced Feb. 7, 2019, during the Laserfiche Empower Conference in Long Beach, California. View the fill list of award recipients.
