Inmates make weighted blankets for people in need

Weighted blankets mimic a firm hug and help individuals feel secure, grounded and safe.

The Idaho Department of Correction and the Idaho Association of Counties have teamed up to make weighted blankets to help people cope with trauma.

Weighted blankets have also been shown to provide relief for people with sensory disorders, sleep disorders, ADD/ADHD, Asperger’s and Autism panic symptoms.

The Idaho Association of Counties prepared this flyer that has more information on the initiative, including how people can help by donating material for the blankets.
