Idaho State Correctional Center (ISCC), in partnership with Mountain View High School and Boise State University, participated in a Summer Theater Group.  Amber Amoureux, the Stage Craft teacher from Mountain View High School was the Director and Dr. Christina Ivey, Boise State University, was the Assistant Director for ISCC inmates who performed a spoof on William Shakespeare’s The Tempest.

Vetted inmates met for seven weeks in July and August with a performance for their friends, family members, and staff on August 15, 2018.  Props were provided by Mountain View High School and the original set decorations were made by the inmate performers using a combination of colored butcher and construction paper.  Refreshments were provided for the performers and pictures were taken of the performance and the actors with their family members.

The consensus from everyone who participated and attended was positive, and ISCC is looking forward to continuing the Theater Group next year.
