ISCC’s Operation Ice Cream

Warden Jay Christensen and the leadership team at ISCC had a vision to sweeten the circumstances during COVID-19 challenges on the incarcerated population during summer of 2020. 

Every Wednesday for the past 18 weeks, Case Managers at ISCC have been handing out Ice Cream style treats to the men within their units. 

This is a picture of the Case Managers who were waiting at the South Sally Outdoor large freezer with their unit carts to receive the product to deliver back to the unit.

The units included all areas including specialty areas, created for COVID-positive men and COVID asymptomatic men that were housed in various parts of the facility. 

While it’s a small treat, it makes a big impact, and was appreciated throughout the population.
