ISCI locked down following morning altercations

Idaho State Correctional Institution is locked down following two altercations during the morning feeding on Jan. 8, 2017.

At 7:15 a.m., three inmates attacked three other inmates while walking from their housing units to ISCI’s dining hall. Correctional officers were present and immediately intervened. No one was seriously hurt.

At 8:12 a.m., four inmates were involved in an altercation in the dining hall.  Security staff was on site and immediately intervened. No one was seriously hurt.

As a precautionary measure, all inmates at ISCI have been locked down.

IDOC’s four other Boise prisons remain on secure status, with portions of Idaho Maximum Security Institution and Idaho State Correctional Center locked down. 

No timeline has been set for their return to normal operations.
