ISCI music program offers more than music

Three inmates play musical instruments

The ISCI management team supports a recreational musical program for inmates that teaches the men more than just how to play instruments.

According to the program facilitator, the program provides positive social interactions and an outlet for dealing with emotions.

Warden Ramirez is already planning for a summer concert series where the musicians can perform.

Pictured are Dominic Hinton #98835 (keyboards), Joe Cantu #25607 (bass) and Matthew Brooks #97593 (guitar/vocals) playing an original song for Chief of Prisons, Chad Page, during an Easter visit.

Visit IDOC's Facebook page to hear the men play the song.
