Following in the footsteps of American Legion Post #201 at the Idaho State Correctional Center (ISCC), military veterans at the Idaho State Correctional Institution (ISCI) have come together to form American Legion Post #202.

The post received its official charter on 7 October 2019.

The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness.

It is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans.

ISCI’s Post #202 currently has 17 members and growing.

Recently, members nominated and elected officers and post leadership to begin the process of formally setting the post agenda and goals.

Special thanks to America Legion Department of Idaho; Commander Charles “Abe” Abrahamson, Instructor Vance Smith (Post Liaison) and the Administration at ISCI.
