Families and friends of inmates, are you thinking of buying digital music or a digital music player for your incarcerated loved one this Christmas?

If so, you need to know about an important change that will affect the way inmates download and listen to music in Idaho Department of Correction prisons and reentry centers.

Over the next few months, a new digital music system will come online. It will eventually offer inmates the ability to not only listen to music on their digital players, but also send and receive email, and receive digital photos and video messages.

As the new system comes online, sales of digital music on the old system will be phased out.
