That's Life simulation at NICI
By Emmett Wilson, NICI

University of Idaho teaches a diversity class designed to provide students opportunities to learn about and interact with diverse populations.

This is the second year that students taking the class have been presented with discussions and lectures that include a prosecutor, judge, community corrections district manager, correctional education manager and concluding with participation in a financial awareness simulation with all NICI inmates called "Thats Life."

This is the 14th "That's Life" simulation at NICI presented by the U-of-I Extension program with over 1,600 inmates participating and over 200 college students from U of I, LCSC, and NIC coming to NICI for the simulation.

Karen Richel, U-of-I Extension, has been committed and consistent in making these financial literacy simulations available for this population. This class is already full with a waiting list for next fall.
