The baby birds have flown the coop at North Idaho Correctional Institution.

This spring, four house wrens hatched at NICI’s upper firehouse.

Ofc. Kevin Price took these photos and Warden Lynn Guyer forwarded them to EDOC.

According to the Audobon website, the house wren is  “Very active and inquisitive, bouncing about with its short tail held up in the air, pausing to sing a rich bubbling song, it adds a lively spark to gardens and city parks despite its lack of bright colors.

Thanks for the photo Ofc. Price and Warden Guyer!

The Idaho Department of Correction's public information office is always on the lookout for photos from around the department.

If you snapped pictures you'd like to share, send them via email to PIO Jeff Ray.
