On April 6, 2019 several IDOC District 5 employees assisted The Idaho Fish and Game Department in reforesting the Dog Creek area 7.8 miles NNW of Gooding, ID.

In July of 2018 a lightning strike sparked the fire, burning in total 16,325 acres.

In time the fire was contained with assistance of multiple departments.

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game scheduled an event in April 2019 to replant Sage Brush in the area to assist populations of Antelope, Mule Deer and Sage Grouse.

Sr. Probation & Parole Officer Mike Smith rallied other departmental employees, Sr. Probation & Parole Officer Leslie Hoerner, Sr. Probation & Parole Officer Russell Lindley, and DARS Susan Barker.

They spent the day digging in the dirt and having a good ole time.
