April 2014 marked the 20th Anniversary of Pocatello Women’s Correctional Center.  PWCC held a two-day event April 15 and April 17 to honor its staff members. The two-day event was to ensure that every staff member on A and B days and A and B nights would have the opportunity to attend the celebration and feel the recognition that they so deserve.

To show appreciation, all staff members were presented gift bags with a personalized key chain and DVD of the history of PWCC. The event was catered by several local businesses in the community. These businesses have been a part of the Pocatello community for 20 years or more.

Each restaurant generously donated signature food items for staff to enjoy.  Local businesses also donated several items to be given away in fun games of BINGO PWCC Trivia, including gift cards, sweatshirts/t shirts and fleece throw blankets with PWCC embroidered on them, and a beach bag with a cooler built in to it.

While all staff members of PWCC were recognized for their appreciation and public service, Warden Jeff Kirkman presented five individuals with a plaque and certificate for their 20 years of service. Lt. Terry Greeson, Officer Jocy McCormick, Sgt. Dave Platt, Cpl. Chris Duffin and Cpl. Becky McCollum were hired when PWCC first opened its doors, and they are still going strong.

PWCC would like to thank the following local businesses for their generous donations to this event:

  • Press Box
  • Mandarin House
  • The Works
  • The Sand Piper
  • The Wing It
  • Wingers
  • Mama Inez
  • Perkins
  • Portneuf Valley Brewery
  • Buddy’s
  • Red Lobster
  • Old Town Embroidery
  • Blue Cross of Idaho

Special thanks to Felicia Funk for going beyond expectations to organize this great event with the help of Kristen Hulet, Tami Romriell and for Forrest Puckett for the photography.

What a great team!
