Officer Abraham Warner, of PWCC, and his wife have been assisting with Toys for Tots for just under a year.

Toys for Tots has over 100 boxes that are placed in businesses throughout the Pocatello area. Toys for Tots begins placing them in area businesses starting the week of Thanksgiving and are picked up after Dec. 22nd.

Officer Warner and his wife, were tasked with the oversight of 12 of these locations.

Toys for Tots helps underprivileged families supply toys for their children.

Families that are need are required to submit an application to verify that they live in the area, as well as, providing suggestions as to the child’s likes and dislikes.

The items donated are separated into different categories to include stocking stuffers, large toys, and books.

In 2016, in our area alone, we collected over 3000 toy—up from 2015.  This year, many toys were also collected, but Toys for Tots has indicated, they seem to be running out of toys far faster than they receive them.

To provide much needed assistance to this cause, PWCC held a Jean Day wherein staff could wear jeans for a whole week, if they would donate a toy.  As a result 45 toys were collected.
