"Shop With a Cop" Event in Caldwell

Cory Barrier, District Manager, District 3 Probation and Parole

With a new school year just around the corner, several D3 Probation & Parole Officers in partnership with several local police agencies helped kids get prepared through the "Shop With a Cop" event in Caldwell. Officers had an opportunity to share lunch with the kids before setting off to the local Walmart to gather needed school supplies and clothes. This was not only a great opportunity for kids to interact with officers in a positive way, but helped them be well prepared and excited about going back to school. Seeing the kids' eyes light up with excitement about a new backpack or box of brand new Crayons was just as fulfilling for the officers helping them shop. Thanks to the many community partners who make this program work! Walmart, Canyon County Sheriff's Office, Caldwell Police Department, Homedale Police Department, Wilder Police Department, etc.

Special thanks to D3 Probation and Parole Officers: Bethany Lyons, Kendra Craver, Rob Reynolds, Brian Seegmiller, Chris Carter and to the spouses and kids of the officers who participated!
