Staff and inmates recognize veterans at ICIO

This week staff at ICIO organized a wreath-making event and veteran recognition wrapped up into one project. 

Participating inmates identified as U.S. veterans completed the project. 

They made 27 wreaths that were transported to Normal Hill Cemetery, in Lewiston, where Special Projects Officer Adam Few coordinated with cemetery officials to place the wreaths on veteran headstones. 

The oldest headstone decorated was of a Civil War veteran that moved to Lewiston in 1897.
