Two walkaways from IDOC retained jurisdiction program back in custody

BOISE, Idaho, Dec. 4, 2019 — Two inmates who walked away from the Idaho Department of Correction’s South Boise Women’s Correctional Center are back in custody.

Kesha Lyric Kandler, IDOC #128177, and Whitney Ann Wickwire, IDOC #133423, were reported missing at 5:37 p.m.  

Ada County sheriff’s deputies captured the women a short distance from the facility -- near the intersection of Gowen Road and Pleasant Valley Road -- at about 9 p.m.    

Kandler was sentenced in Canyon County to 1 (one) year, 6 (six) months to 3 (three) years for possession of a controlled substance. The sentence was suspended, and she was ordered to participate in IDOC’s retained jurisdiction program. She was scheduled to have completed the program on Nov. 6, 2020. 

Wickwire was sentenced in Kootenai County to 2 (two) years to 5 (five) years for possession of a stolen vehicle in Kootenai County. The sentence was suspended, and she was ordered to participate in IDOC’s retained jurisdiction program. She was scheduled to have completed the program on Oct. 27, 2020.
