Changes for threee staff members at Idaho Correctional Institution-Orofino.
Jimmy Needham filled the most recent corporal spot at ICIO. Jimmy was working ICIO laundry when he threw his hat and shot for the corporal position. Jimmy started with the IDOC back in 2006. In 2009 he took a short job in North Dakota Corrections and then came back to ICIO, where he worked many different positions including being selected for ICIO Special Projects in 2016 and 2019.
Recently the ICIO investigations corporal, Wes Heckathorn retired after nearly 13 years of service at ICIO. He came to the IDOC after retiring from the Navy. Wes had been the ICIO investigations corporal since 2011. If you have any questions regarding ICIO investigations, Corporal Earl Durham has taken over the helm.
Clinician Yadira ‘Yadi’ Hernandez became the newest member of the North Region Crisis Negotiation Team, filling the open Mental Health Expert position. Yadi came to the IDOC last year in May from the Department of Health & Welfare. She brings with her 7 years of social worker experience covering areas like adult mental health, Child Protective Services, adult severe mental & behavioral issues, and community mental health trauma work in relation to PTSD, abuse.
