South Boise Women’s Correctional Center celebrated the retirement of Food Service Supervisor Scott Spackman with a reception attended by many who he has mentored and befriended in his career.
Scott plans on spending his time when retired fishing and with his children and grandchildren.
Scott began his service at ISCI in 1998 and quickly promoted to supervisor in which he ran the kitchen for twelve years until he saw “the light” and transferred to SBWCC in 2009.
It was SBWCC’s gain for his smile and humor has been a constant calming force at the facility.
He demonstrated the IDOC values of integrity, positive attitude and respect in everything he did. Whether it was mentoring offenders in the kitchen, creating the facility garden or representing Santa at Christmas.
Scott plans on spending his retirement fishing and loving on his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed, but fortunately he has volunteered to return for future holidays with his very special HO, HO, HO.
