ICIO staff and raise money to help facility's neighbors
Three months ago, a wildfire burned six homes near Idaho Correctional Institution-Orofino.
ICIO staff and residents raised $3,717 to help the facility's neighbors replace things they lost.
"The kitchen did a resident cookie incentive fundraiser and staff donated items for a raffle," writes ICIO Lt. Greg Heun.
The fire was sparked Aug. 29 when a transformer blew during a windstorm. Within 30-minutes six houses behind the prison were on fire.
