Celebrating Growth & Hope at South Idaho Correctional Institution (SICI) during its Cultivate Mentor Graduation

Mentorship is powerful.

It creates connection. It builds confidence. And it gives people the chance to grow through the guidance of someone who’s walked a similar path.

Across Idaho’s correctional facilities, more than 1,000 mentors have been trained, each using their own journey to help others find hope, resilience, and joy. Their commitment shows that positive change happens through relationships — one conversation, one lesson, one moment of encouragement at a time.

IDOC is incredibly proud of the work happening in our facilities. Programs like Cultivate strengthen rehabilitation, promote accountability, and ultimately reinforce public safety by fostering better outcomes for the individuals returning to our communities.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to grow — and last night’s graduates proved just how life-changing mentorship can be.
