Victims of domestic violence are receiving calls from someone claiming to be a sergeant at Ada County Jail and are told that the defendant will be released unless a fee is paid to keep them in custody.

This is a scam. You will never be asked to pay money to keep someone in jail or prison. Do not send money or provide personal information if you receive a call like this.
