IDOC and Local Law Enforcement Conduct a Drug Sweep at ISCC

Boise, Idaho – June 24, 2025 — Last week, the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC), in collaboration with the Boise Police Department, Nampa Police Department, and Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, carried out a targeted security operation to root out contraband at the Idaho State Correctional Center (ISCC), the state’s largest men’s prison.
The operation targeted C Block at the Idaho State Correctional Center (ISCC) and included searches of the education and vocational classrooms, in addition to the housing unit. Members of IDOC’s Correctional Emergency Response Team (CERT) and the auxiliary crowd control team (ACCT), along with police officers and K9s from all participating agencies searched a housing unit, which includes approximately 180 bunks and the property of around 345 inmates, without finding any major contraband.
The operation proceeded smoothly, with no significant incidents reported, and provided a valuable hands-on training opportunity for IDOC’s CERT members and partner K9 teams.
IDOC Director Bree Derrick praised the effort, stating: “Improving public safety in Idaho takes all of us. Last week’s drug sweep in one of our prisons was an example of the partnership between IDOC, Canyon County, Boise and Nampa PDs. We thank our law enforcement partners for helping us keep our facilities safe and secure.”
IDOC plans to continue building on this cooperative approach to reinforce safety and interagency readiness.
