On June 16th 2026, South Boise Women’s Correctional Center marked a remarkable milestone as 19 women received their GEDs, demonstrating exceptional determination and perseverance. This achievement is not just about academics—it highlights their resilience and commitment to creating brighter futures for themselves.

Earning a GED while incarcerated requires extraordinary dedication. These graduates balanced rigorous studies with personal growth, self-reflection, and preparation for successful reintegration into their communities. Their journey proves that change is possible with perseverance and hope.

The graduates have set inspiring goals for their next chapters, including careers as a barber, a phlebotomist, a business owner of a painting company, a drug and alcohol counselor, a preacher, and a cosmetologist. These aspirations reflect their determination to contribute positively to their families and communities.

Family and friends joined the ceremony, celebrating alongside the graduates. Maintaining these connections is vital for successful reentry, as family support strengthens relationships, encourages accountability, and lays the foundation for a positive transition back into society.

Congratulations to all 19 graduates. Their hard work, courage, and dedication are commendable, and the community looks forward to seeing their continued growth and achievements.
