What does the Physical Readiness Test entail?

The Physical Readiness Test includes 5 activities

  1. 1/2 Mile Run in 7 minutes.
  2. Agility Sprint - 30 seconds - Illinois Agility run: Cones are placed at 0 (start), 10, 20, 30 ft. At the start, from prone position next to the cone, stand up and sprint to having one foot pass the 30 ft. mark, then sprint back to start. Continue around start cone then weave between the 10 and 20 ft. cones in a zig-zag fashion, then around the 30 ft. cone, zigzagging back to the start cone, then around the start cone, sprinting to the end cone, then back to start. Must be completed in 30.0 seconds.
  3. Dummy Drag - 30 ft.- secure a 100-130 lb. dummy by either the feet or armpits and drag for 30 ft. without stopping. This event is not timed.
  4. 15 Squat Thrusts - 3 min - from standing, squat down, thrust legs out to plank position, bring legs back to squat, then stand. Repeat 15 times. (similar to a burpee but without the pushup or jump).
  5. Dexterity/Flexibility Test - while crouched: unlock padlock, remove lock, remove key from lock, replace & lock padlock, repeat 3 times while staying crouched
