Pre-Sentence Investigator Intern

All current openings are unpaid.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must be a current student in a post-high school academic program. Must be at least 18 years of age and able to successfully complete and pass background check. Must possess basic computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel and email applications, have good written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to work effectively as a team.

Felonies, misdemeanors, probation of any kind in the last 12 months, illegal drug use and/or certain driving convictions may disqualify you from participation in the internship program.

District 3 - Caldwell

Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week, negotiable

Learning Opportunities: Data entry in Correctional Integrated System and Pre-Sentence Investigations computer modules to include biographical data, criminal history, employment history, collateral contact interview information. Obtain information from outside agencies pertaining to individuals who have been convicted of a felony but have not yet been sentenced, conduct court referrals for evaluations.

District 4 – Boise & Surrounding Areas

Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week, negotiable

Learning Opportunities: Data entry in CIS and PSI computer modules to include biographical data, criminal history, employment history, collateral contact interview information. Obtain information from outside agencies pertaining to individuals who have been convicted of a felony but have not yet been sentenced, conduct court referrals for evaluations.

District 5 - Twin Falls/Burley

Schedule: Minimum 10 hours per week
