Resident Communications Update/Memo #25

Topic: Charging Cords and Earbuds, Videograms, and ViaPath Tablet Deployment Update

Charging Cords and Earbuds:

  1. A charging cord is provided to use with the tablets.
    1. That charging cord is property of IDOC, just like the tablet.
    2. If a charging cord is damaged or misplaced, the resident is responsible for replacing it.
    3. When moving from one facility to another, the tablet will stay with the facility, but the charging cord will move with the resident.
    4. When a resident is released from IDOC, the tablet and a working charger must be turned in before leaving.
  2. One set of earbuds is provided to each resident.
    1. The set of earbuds becomes property of the resident.
    2. The earbuds go wherever the resident goes.
    3. Replacement earbuds are available on commissary.

Videograms:

Securus (JPay) is still working on a fix that will allow Videograms to be viewed on the JPay tablet without Wi-Fi. The solution will be deployed to Saguaro first, then to Nampa CRC, and if it works in both locations, it will be deployed to all kiosks!

Once the fix is deployed, you can download the Videograms that you would like to keep on your JPay tablet, and they will play when the JPay Wi-Fi is terminated.

Tablet Deployment Schedule:

The IC Solutions deployment teams are currently finishing the deployment at Idaho State Correctional Institute (ISCI).

The subscription (Access Pass) options should be available to ISCC today (Thursday September 18th) and to ISCI tomorrow, Friday September 19th.

Work at the remaining facilities is expected to begin as follows:

SBWCC –                Wednesday October 1

TV CRC –                 Wednesday October 1

IMSI –                       Friday October 3

SICI –                        Monday October 6

MVTC –                    Monday October 13

Everyone should have a new ViaPath tablet by Wednesday October 15th!

Reminder:

After your facility transitions to ViaPath, the JPay tablets will no longer be on Wi-Fi. However, the Kiosks will remain connected to JPay services for a while longer. We do not have an official cut-off date for JPay services yet. The date of the cut-off of JPay services will also be communicated once we know.

If you have any other questions or worries that have not been addressed, you can fill out a Concern Form and send it to Central Office – Contracts.
